Sheila Goodman Poff
SAVANNAH – Sheila Goodman Poff, 69, passed away on July 1, 2011 at Hospice House after losing her battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Daisey Goodman, and a brother, Nick Goodman.
Sheila was born in Marion, VA, reared in Salem, VA, and travelled the world as an Army wife before she and her family settled in Savannah, GA. She was an active member of Isle of Hope Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Lieutenant Colonel Retired Gary L. Poff; daughter, Yvonne P. Woodhams Tom of Leesville, VA; son Scott L. Poff of Savannah; and four grandchildren, Katie, Alex, Maggie, and Phillip. She has three sisters, Lucy Epperly Lennie, Donna Zirkle John, and Jan Heath David, all of Salem, VA. She spent over 26 years as an Army wife and was a loving mother and grandmother.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel, from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm, followed by a Memorial Service in Fox & Weeks' Chapel at 7:00 pm conducted by Rev. Billy Miller.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Hospice Savannah, Inc., P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416 or to Isle of Hope Baptist Church, 22 Rose Ave., Savannah, GA 31406.

I am so sorry to hear about Sheila.I have thought about her through the years and wondered how she was. We grew up to together- being next door neighbors. I thought of her on her birthday every year and wished I knew where she was. She was such a sweet person.
